HELP STAMP OUT ROGUE GAS FITTERS!
The Gas Safe Register is working to stamp out dangerous gas
fitters without the necessary qualifications to install or repair boilers and
other gas appliances.
Most gas users will be familiar with CORGI, the industry body that regulated workers
in the gas appliance sector.
Now the Gas Safe Register has replaced CORGI so, in future,
all gas installers will need to be on the Gas Safe Register.
The Gas Safe Register monitors registered gas installers, checking their proficiency
and investigating complaints about their work.
Anyone on the Gas Safe Register should be able to provide identification with an individual
card showing their photo, their Gas Safe Registration number and the Gas Safe logo. |

HELP US KEEP YOU SAFE!
Don't hire anyone to install, service or repair a gas
appliance unless they can prove registration with Gas Safe.
You can check their credentials by visiting
the registration site.
The benefits are that your gas installer:
-
will have been trained to a high standard in gas work ;
-
will know the rules for installing gas appliances to
a safe standard; and
-
can certify the installation, so your new appliance can
be registered with the local authority.
The downside from hiring an unregistered gas installer can
be lethal, with death from carbon monoxide poisoning taking only minutes, so insist
on Gas Safe registration however small the job.
